Prediction  of fatigue lifetime is an important tool for optimizing the design of injection moulded short glass fiber reinforced plastics parts.
In recent years, we have developed a modelling framework that is based on understanding of failure mechanisms observed in this class of materials, and on a vast series of experimental results.
We will explain how to include important factors like fiber orientation,  local stress, and load ratio. In addition we will explain how to correct for the presence of stress concentrations.
